Join Us for Giving Tuesday at the Turning Point Center of Addison County!
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to make a difference in the lives of those in our community who are on the path to recovery. The Turning Point Center of Addison County is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for individuals seeking to overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
Our programs include:
- One-on-one coaching with a peer (a coach who has their own lived experience with addiction).
- Hosting local recovery groups, including 12-step groups, and facilitating other recovery groups.
- Facilitating other groups, such as the Buddhist-inspired “Wellness Council” in downtown Middlebury, and virtual groups like Parents in Recovery and All Recovery
- Embedding recovery coaches at the Bristol Teen Center, the Middlebury Teen Center, Charter House (serving the unhoused), and Valley Vista Women’s Residential treatment facility in Vergennes.
- Providing free harm reductions supplies on demand to those in need in Addison County
- Presenting at local high schools several times each year.
- Providing 24/7 coaching support for those patients at the Porter Emergency Department with addiction-related health problems.
- Participating in a local “street” outreach effort with the unhoused.
These programs reach hundreds of our neighbors in Addison County each year. All our recovery coaches receive training to do their work, as well as ongoing specialized training in areas such as Motivational Interviewing, Family Coaching, and Ethics. Turning Point does not charge for any of these services. We receive funding from the State of Vermont, private donors and foundation grants.
